Point guard Tyus Jones has a great shot at being a first round pick. Senior guard Quinn Cook? He was vital to Duke’s success this season, but his NBA potential is a little less clear. Well, at least to those who didn’t play with him on the 2015 national championship team.Basketball Insiders‘ Alex Kennedy wrote a great piece on Cook’s NBA prospects, and spoke to Okafor, who had nothing but praise for his former teammate..@JahlilOkafor praised @QCook323 and said he’d love to play with Quinn again. While the other three Blue Devils all look like safe bets to be drafted, we imagine Duke fans would like nothing more than to see Cook land with a team. If that team winds up being Okafor’s? To mark its one-year anniversary, realme announced the realme 3 pro in India a few days ago. While the phone goes on sale on April 29, the company, ahead of the online sale, offered a chance to fans to get a hands-on experience of the device on April 27 as well as buy it. Also on offer were freebies, food coupons, a chance to meet the realme CEO Madhav Sheth and an option to pre-book the realme 3 pro — something that came with additional goodies from the company.Over a thousand people who queued up at the realme popup event also bought over 800 realme 3 pro phones on the spot.On April 27, realme held a pop-up event for the realme 3 pro at Pacific Mall, Subhash Nagar in New Delhi. The event was for realme fans to gather and get an exclusive hands-on time with the realme 3 pro. The company said that some fans travelled long distances, and from other states, to be part of the event, and that many were in queue at the venue hours before the event. And they were rewarded for their efforts. Take the example of Abhishek Sani, who travelled from Jaipur in a bus to attend the realme event. He queued up and when the event started, he had a surprise waiting for him. Seeing his excitement and given the fact that he had travelled 300 kilometres for the event, Madhav Sheth bought him the realme 3 pro.advertisementGoodies for Realme fansThe event saw realme India CEO Madhav Sheth unveil the first Kiosk store. Ahead of its online release on April 29, the realme 3 pro was available for purchase for fans and general public at the pop-up store at Pacific Mall. The first ever realme pop-up event left the fans pleased as the company offered more than just the chance to see the realme 3 pro.Fans who registered for the event on Realme.com before April 27 walked away with freebies. The first 200 fans to queue up at the pop-up event won free tickets to watch Avengers: Endgame. Apart from the exclusive hands-on experience of the realme 3 pro, fans also got a chance to win the phone. Those who visited the pop-up event also won coupons for savouring delicacies at the mall.Lastly, people who pre-booked the realme 3 pro at the pop-up store or bought it on the spot also, in a pleasant surprise, won a free realme backpack. The excitement around the realme 3 pro is understandable given its specifications and its extremely competitive pricing, making it one of the best phones under Rs 15,000. The realme 3 pro has been launched, starting at Rs 13,999 and, for that price, it offers an attractive dewdrop display with a gradient curved rear panel, a powerful, gaming-focused mid-range processor, a large battery coupled with VOOC fast charging and some cameras that have flagship grade hardware.Realme 3 Pro specs and featuresThe realme 3 pro is a successor to the popular realme 2 pro. It sports a 6.3-inch FHD+ (2340×1080) display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a screen-to-body ratio that’s over 90 per cent. It is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 710 chipset paired with Adreno 616 GPU. This also means that the realme 3 Pro is the only phone in its segment to support Fortnite out-of-the-box. It also ships with ColorOS 6 based on Android Pie.The realme 3 pro is offered with up to 6GB of RAM. The company is also using a flagship-grade 16-megapixel f/1.7 Sony IMX519 primary sensor that is coupled with a 5-megapixel secondary depth sensor. The realme 3 pro also touts crisp and clear selfies, thanks to its 25-megapixel selfie camera. The phone houses a large 4,045mAh, but the highlight is that it is the first realme phone to support VOOC 3.0 fast charging that will charge up the device to 100 per cent in just 80 minutes.Of late, realme has used social media to galvanise its fans, who now have a sizable presence due to quality products and focus from realme in the last one year. But the pop-up event on April 27 was the company’s first offline interaction with its community. The kiosk, too, is the company’s first attempt to focus more on the offline sales model. So far it seems, given the gathering of enthusiastic fans at the April 27 event, that realme is gradually building the blocks to be a company that is poised to challenge the market leaders in the mainstream market.advertisementThe company is also doing well in terms of sales, reveals a report by market research firm Counterpoint on April 26. The report, which takes a look at India’s phone market in Q1, 2019, highlights that realme, with 7 per cent market share, is now the fourth largest phone brand in India. “Realme continues to grow fast in India, leveraging on the strong momentum for its realme 3 model during the quarter,” a Counterpoint analyst noted in the report.ALSO READ | Realme 3 Pro sold out in minutes during first sale, next sale at 4pm todayALSO READ | Realme 3 Pro review: Believe the hypeGet real-time alerts and all the news on your phone with the all-new India Today app. Download from Post your comment Do You Like This Story?
